On these pages we give some background on Ballater Highland Games based on information provided by the late Eddie Anderson.
Ballater Highland Games competitions include piping, highland dancing, track events, a hill race, field events (both light and heavy), tug o’war, and tilt the bucket. There are also children’s races and a fun fair. Of course no Games would be complete without Pipe Bands, and Ballater is fortunate to have its own excellent Band. Competitions are open to all-comers, and competitors can register up to 30 minutes before the start of respective events.
The gates to the Games in Monaltrie Park, Ballater open at 10.00am. Events commence at 11.00am and continue through the day until around 5.00pm.
